The atTAcK addiction E-Racing the Stigma 5K/Rally is so much more than just a race; it’s a movement. Comprised primarily of participants who have been personally impacted by the disease of addiction by either overcoming an addiction, having lost a loved one to addiction, and/or currently living with an addicted loved one, it has been described as a spiritual experience. The crisp March air is no match for the warm feelings of love, camaraderie, and acceptance the participants experience as the course winds them through picturesque Old New Castle and through beautiful Battery Park along the Delaware River.
Not only did COVID-19 put a huge damper on our 2021 event, it has put Opioid Use Disorder and Overdose Death on the back burner. Now, more than ever, we need your support to provide a healthier and safer Delaware. The rise in illegal fentanyl has caused an incredible spike in Overdose Deaths in our country.
Since our inception in 2013, atTAcK addiction has made huge strides in Delaware’s efforts to raise awareness about the disease of addiction, change public policy and assist people in recovery and their families. We are a true grass roots organization of all volunteers and our 5K/Rally provides 80% of our funding. The funds raised from this event will be used to: promote awareness about the dangers of illegal drug use, support people in recovery and their families, provide scholarships for those in active recovery looking to get their lives on the right track or those seeking careers in mental health and substance abuse, support those who’ve lost a loved one to the disease of addiction , fund our recovery residences, and provide hope to the recovery community.
We always provide a certified USATF 5K course.
