The atTAcK addiction E-Racing the Stigma 5K/Rally is so much more than just a race; it’s a movement. Comprised primarily of participants who have been personally impacted by the disease of addiction by either overcoming an addiction, having lost a loved one to addiction, and/or currently living with an addicted loved one, it has been described as a spiritual experience. The crisp March air is no match for the warm feelings of love, camaraderie, and acceptance the participants experience as the course winds them through picturesque Old New Castle and through beautiful Battery Park along the Delaware River. Thank You!!!
On Saturday March 2, despite the weather, you showed up! This disease won't put us down! WE continue to atTAcK addiction! WE came together to support those in recovery and to honor loved ones who lost their lives to the disease of substance use disorder. Delawareans are not alone in battling the disease of substance use disorder. It takes a village to battle this epidemic and our village grows bigger each day!
Today was a beautiful day of fellowship. Hearts and souls were joined by compassion and camaraderie.
The monies raised from the “E-Racing the Stigma 5K” event will continue to support Delawareans. WE will continue to invest in:
· Transition housing and sober living
· Naloxone education and distribution
· Scholarships for those seeking a career in behavioral health sciences focusing on addiction
· Speaking series, prevention and educational events
· Reality Tour Education Program for middle school and high school students and their parents
· Loan Program for those seeking sober living
· Social events for young people in recovery
· Advocacy and lobbying for increased access to Substance Use Disorder Treatment
WE are grateful for all those who made this possible. WE owe a deep debt of gratitude to our Sponsors
